South Korea Set to Permanently Establish Temporary Crypto Investigative Unit

Following the arrest of a South Korean altcoin issuer on charges of fraud, the Ministry of Justice and the prosecution are proposing the formal establishment of the Virtual Asset Joint Investigation Team. This move aims to strengthen investigative capabilities in response to the ongoing trial. Importantly, the Justice Ministry and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety have planned discussions in early May to consider elevating the unit to an official department.
