Ryan Salame, Former FTX Executive, Sentenced to 7.5 Years in Prison and Fined $11 Million

“Ryan Salame has been sentenced for his involvement in illegal activities that aimed to promote the interests of FTX, Alameda Research, and his accomplices. These activities included an illicit political influence campaign and the operation of an unlicensed money transmitting business, both of which allowed FTX to expand rapidly and surpass legal boundaries,” stated U.S. Attorney Damian Williams. “Salame’s participation in these two grave federal crimes not only eroded public confidence in American elections but also compromised the integrity of the financial system. This sentence serves as a clear message that such offenses carry severe repercussions.”
