In January 2024, Gambaryan, accompanied by fellow Binance employees, traveled to Nigeria for a scheduled meeting with government representatives to discuss financial regulations. Nevertheless, Binance’s CEO Richard Teng has alleged that a Nigerian official attempted to coerce the cryptocurrency exchange delegates into participating in a clandestine bribery arrangement. The proposed deal was purportedly intended to address the accusations leveled against Binance by the Nigerian government.
