Anime Foundation, in collaboration with Animoca Brands, MyAnimeList, and San FranTokyo, has officially launched as a community-driven cultural protocol for anime and manga. The aim of this partnership is to create new opportunities and experiences for fans, creators, studios, IP holders, and anime brands worldwide. The goal is to provide better opportunities and rewards for anime and manga creators, more efficient distribution, and greater access to exclusive content and ownership for fans in a global community.
The four partners will play a crucial role in achieving this vision. MyAnimeList and Animoca Brands Japan will leverage their industry networks and community engagement to attract talent and expertise from the traditional anime and manga industry. Meanwhile, Animoca Brands and San FranTokyo will use their extensive web3 ecosystems and blockchain technologies to create new opportunities for fan engagement.
Mocaverse, a growth network developed by Animoca Brands, will also collaborate with Anime Foundation. Mocaverse includes systems for Account, Identity, Reputation, and PointFi, which will contribute to the growth and development of the anime and manga community.
In addition, Animoca Brands Japan has invested JPY¥300 million in MyAnimeList, a popular anime and manga community site and database with 16 million registered members. This investment further strengthens the partnership between Anime Foundation and MyAnimeList.
“We are thrilled to be a launch partner of Anime Foundation, which we envision as the spearhead to champion anime culture globally,” said Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands. He further stated that Anime Foundation has the potential to establish itself as a major universal network of on-chain identity, experiences, and economies.
To facilitate the transition into web3, Anime Foundation will utilize Mocaverse’s new Realm Network SDK to introduce Anime ID, a decentralized identifier and reputation layer. This collaboration will enable the development of new monetization models and community-building initiatives using blockchain technology.
“We are excited to co-launch Anime ID with Anime Foundation as the first Realm Network partner. I believe Anime Foundation stands the best chance to onboard millions of Anime fans all over the world,” said Kenneth Shek, Mocaverse Lead.
With the launch of Anime Foundation and its strong partnerships, the anime and manga community can look forward to a future of enhanced opportunities and experiences in a global ecosystem.
