Fleek and Polygon Labs Collaborate to Enhance Cloud Services without Restrictions
Fleek, an edge-optimized cloud platform, has announced a strategic partnership with blockchain developer Polygon Labs to create high-performance, permissionless web services tailored for Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK) projects.
The collaboration aims to leverage Fleek’s new on-chain cloud infrastructure to build innovative web services that meet the needs of modern developers and users. Fleek CEO Harrison Hines highlighted the importance of developing services that offer benefits in terms of decentralization, self-sovereignty, performance, cost, and developer experience.
With the introduction of Edge Functions, Fleek’s first public testnet featuring CDN and JavaScript Runtime services, the platform is paving the way for new use cases that harness these capabilities.
The press release emphasized the cost-saving potential of using Fleek’s algorithmic operation of its global node network, which eliminates human-related factors that typically contribute to 75%-80% of cloud costs. By providing developers with out-of-the-box infrastructure, Fleek aims to streamline the development process and improve efficiency.
In addition to addressing cost concerns, Fleek and Polygon Labs are focused on enhancing performance. Previous testnet trials demonstrated that Fleek’s infrastructure outperformed traditional cloud platforms, with an average time to first byte (TTFB) significantly faster than AWS Lambdas and Vercel Serverless.
Polygon CDK, a widely used software toolkit for launching new L2 chains on Ethereum, is an essential component of this collaboration. Projects like IDEX, WIREX, Palm Network, and others have successfully utilized Polygon CDK, with more projects in the pipeline.
By leveraging blockchain technology to coordinate and incentivize network participants, the collaboration aims to improve efficiency and deliver better products for users. Follow Fleek and Polygon Labs for updates on this exciting partnership.
