In 2022, it is believed that Trump made over $1 million from the sale of his self-branded NFTs. These digital souvenirs, known as the “Mugshot Edition,” were first released by Trump in December of the previous year. The intention behind this release was to profit from his arrest in August 2023 for attempting to overturn Georgia’s election results in 2020.
Trump had initially promoted the purchase of these NFTs as a unique opportunity, labeling it a “once-in-a-lifetime experience.” Those who bought over 100 NFTs would also have the chance to receive exclusive treasures during his Mar-a-Lago Gala dinner.
Recently, the team responsible for Trump Digital Trading Cards made an announcement stating that a limited number of his “Mugshot Edition” NFTs had been officially designated as Bitcoin ordinals.
