Tornado Cash, an innovative privacy tool, disrupts the connection between a user’s cryptocurrency deposit and wallet address by utilizing a technique called “crypto mixing.” This process combines and disguises transactions, enabling individuals to withdraw their funds to a fresh wallet and safeguard their financial confidentiality. However, it is important to note that this service is prohibited within the United States. Furthermore, it has raised concerns from the Treasury due to its association with the North Korean Lazarus Group, which exploited Tornado Cash to conceal stolen funds amounting to a staggering $625 million from the Axie Infinity platform. Additionally, the creators of this mixing service are currently under investigation for money laundering charges in the United States.
