DWF Labs Fires Eugene Ng Following Accusations of Drink Spiking
Eugene Ng, one of the founding partners of DWF Labs, has been terminated by the company after facing allegations of inappropriate behavior. These accusations, which were brought to light on social media, assert that Ng attempted to spike a woman’s drink during a business meeting at a bar in Hong Kong. The incident has gained significant attention, leading to Ng’s immediate removal from his management and operational roles at DWF Labs. However, the company has not explicitly confirmed his identity.
DWF Labs Takes Action Against Partner in Response to Drink Spiking Allegations in Hong Kong
In an official statement, DWF Labs expressed deep concern over the accusations. “We are aware of the recent and deeply concerning allegations involving one of our partners, who has been accused of inappropriate and unacceptable behavior,” the company stated. This decision was followed by the removal of Ng’s profile from the company’s team page, emphasizing the seriousness with which DWF Labs is addressing the situation.
The alleged incident occurred on October 24 during a meeting between Ng and a woman named Hana, who had connected with him for a professional discussion. According to Hana, while she briefly left for the bathroom, bar staff members noticed Ng placing something into her drink. When she returned and attempted to exchange her drink, Ng reportedly prevented her from doing so. As a result, Hana chose to leave. Later, she reported feeling dizzy, further fueling her suspicion that her drink had been tampered with.
Hana also shared a distressing detail, claiming that Ng tried to entice her to go to his accommodation by offering to take her to a taxi and subtly suggesting that she join him in a suite. Furthermore, he implied that she would not have a direct role in a cryptocurrency project.

In response to the incident, Hana sought assistance from local authorities, who reportedly provided CCTV footage supporting her claim of drink spiking. Hana noted that Ng’s behavior displayed a level of confidence that implies this may not have been his first instance of such misconduct. She took to the internet to share her experience and evidence, encouraging others to come forward.
Another user on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, going by the name ‘Iris’, claimed to have experienced similar tactics from Ng, describing his approach as “extremely aggressive.” The fallout for Ng extended beyond DWF Labs, as his account on the platform was swiftly made private and then deleted. Additionally, his LinkedIn profile has been taken offline.
Ng has an extensive background in finance, having held positions at Barclays, Citi, and Deutsche Bank before becoming a crypto industry advisor and founding his own real-world asset firm, OpenEden. He also served as the head of business development in Asia at Gemini. As the investigation continues, DWF Labs is distancing itself from the incident, while public interest and scrutiny surrounding the case remain high.
